Congrats, Bindi! Dancing with the Stars S21:E14
We did it! We made it through the 21st season of Dancing with the Stars! I’m not going to lie, there were some dark times (seeing Paula Deen’s upper thighs), but we stuck with it and watched through all the sad tears, happy tears, and tired tears.
You can forever re-experience the whole season here! All of our sometimes snarky posts await.
Laura was busy watching and recapping Finding Carter tonight, so I’m flying solo for this final DWTS post.
I’m ready if you’re ready!
1. Bindi & Derek
Routine: Cha Cha/Argentine Tango Fusion
Judges’ score: 30
At this point, we’ve said everything we can possibly say about Bindi. She’s great. She’s a shining beacon of light. Her mouth is always agape (maybe we haven’t said that before, but that’s what happens when Laura isn’t here to filter me). Of course, her final dance was a perfect ending to her perfect season. brb, I have to go roll my eyes a thousand times over.
2. Nick & Sharna
Routine: Salsa/Tango Fusion
Judges’ score: 30
This dance was really great given the time constraints, but it probably didn’t deserve a perfect score. All you have to do is compare it to Bindi’s performance to see that. Regardless, I was glad that Nick and Sharna had a final moment that was so joyous. They were definitely Laura’s favorite, and I’m thinking they were mine too.
3. Alek & Lindsay
Routine: Rumba/Tango Fusion
Judges’ score: 27
It’s only fair that they received a lower score than the other two. Alek was way out of his depth in this final round of competition. Somehow he outlasted both PenaVegas, but he had no right sharing the stage with Nick and Bindi. Alek seems to be a sweet guy and is a certified hero, but I don’t think he’s a dancer just yet.
The final results mirrored my thoughts on tonight’s performances exactly. Alek finished in third, Nick was the runner up, and Bindi won. I know — we’re all trying to get over the shock of that outcome.
Bindi deserved the win. It was never even close. I’m glad the right person won. I just wish Bindi didn’t happen to be the right person.
That’s all from me. I don’t even want to get into the atrocities of the rest of the finale like the Chaka and Andy duet.
And one last thing since I’m in charge…I’ll leave you with a visual representation of why Dancing with the Stars means so much to me.
Val, I’ll miss you most of all.
Until the next commercial break,
Paige (and Laura in spirit)
