Good Riddance, Paula! Dancing with the Stars S21:E7

It’s only week seven? It kind of feels like we’ve been watching this show for an eternity at this point. The theme is famous dances, and Leah Remini is filling in for Erin Andrews. Olivia Newton-John is guest judging if you can even call her repetitive commentary, blank stares, and copycat scores judging.

Keep reading for our rankings of tonight’s dances…

1. Andy & Allison
Routine: Jazz to “Good Morning” from Singin’ in the Rain
Judges’ Score: 40
Andy is really stepping it up. We’re not sure if Sharna got him to flip a switch or if he’s just riding high on his confidence from last week, but he’s like a different dancer. We are loving the transformation, and Allison did a really great job with the routine.

2. Carlos & Witney
Routine: Rumba to “Pony” from Magic Mike
Judges’ Score: 38
Get over yourself, Carlos. You’re playing a part; it’s not real. We’re putting our big time crush on hold since he was being a baby. Laura thought the routine was good. Paige thought his body was good.

3. Bindi & Derek
Routine: Rumba to “I’ve Had the Time of My Life” from Dirty Dancing
Judges’ Score: 40
Bindi was good as usual. We didn’t really think it was perfect score material, though. That lift was a weight Derek was glad to get off his shoulders—literally.

4. Tamar & Val
Routine: to “Rhythm Nation” by Janet Jackson
Judges’ Score: 40
She’s a great dancer, but we’re struggling to find something redeeming about her personality. She just seems so aloof.

5. Nick & Sharna
Samba to “You Should Be Dancing” from Saturday Night Fever
Judges’ Score: 39
Nick made a strong effort, but it almost seemed like he was working too hard. We think it was one of the hardest routines of the night, so we’ll give him a pass.

6. Alexa & Mark
Routine: Cha Cha to “I’m Slave 4 U” by Britney Spears
Judges’ Score: 30
We don’t think it was Alexa’s best dance by any stretch, but the judges definitely shortchanged them. If Hayes’s dance got all eights, Alexa’s really shouldn’t have gotten any sevens. Hers was better than his for sure.

7. Hayes & Emma
Routine: Jazz to “You’re the One That I Want” from Grease
Judges’ Score: 32
He had the moves down, but he was just too stiff. It looked like he was having fun, at least. Paige thinks it was Mr. Roboto meets Grease. We agree with Carrie Ann’s Flat Stanley comparison.

8. Alek & Lindsay
Routine: Jive to “Jailhouse Rock” by Elvis Presley
Judges’ Score: 30
Yet another dance that should not have scored anywhere near Alexa’s. What are the judges thinking? Alek’s outfit wasn’t doing him any favors; it was just way too bulky and made him seem slower than he should have been moving. We’re so confused about the fact that his dance last week scored a point lower than this one. Last week’s routine was SO much better.

9. Paula & Louis
Routine: Jazz to “Vogue” by Madonna
Judges’ Score: 24
Well, Louis looked good. Paula didn’t do much more than walk and fan herself. She couldn’t be more embarrassing if she tried.

And now, the most important news: PAULA IS GONE! HALLELUJAH! We couldn’t be happier unless, of course, this would have happened five weeks ago.

Check back with us next week for our recap of the Halloween special!

Until the next commercial break,

Paige & Laura
